Raising funds on the run

Trail run raises funds for local Eric Ngubane.

RIVERSIDE Trail recently hosted a successful fundraising trail run and walk at Burman Bush for wily road runner, Eric Ngubane. Two hundred eager trail runners lined up to tackle the 8km and 4km trails through the beautiful coastal forests, enjoying sweeping views over the Umgeni River.

All proceeds raised from this event and donations received from running group, Regent Harriers, and the Durban North community will be given to Ngubane, who has been selected to represent South Africa in the World Trail Champs in France, which start on 30 May.

The team selected to represent South Africa needs to pay their own airfares and take their own spending money. Riverside Trail is proud to announce that they have raised R20 000 for Eric.

“We know that Eric will make us proud,” said Alison Chadwick, the organiser of the event.
