Woman injured in hit-and-run

Yet another pedestrian accident on North Coast Road.

A THIRTY two year old female pedestrian was left with head injuries after she was struck by a vehicle on North Coast Road, during the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver failed to stop after hitting the pedestrian.

“The accident scene was close to the Effingham Road intersection. The woman was lying on the pavement and sustained a head injury. She was stabilized and taken to a near by hospital,” explained Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen.

He added police would be investigating the incident further.

In recent times North Coast Road has been the scene of a number of hit-and-runs as well pedestrian fatalities.
