Driver critical after being pinned between two vehicles in early morning crash.

TWO people were injured in a crash on Umhlanga Rocks Drive near Sunningdale this morning. According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, the driver of the vehicle allegedly lost control before hitting a tree. He was then hit by two tow trucks as he clambered out of the wreckage.

“The accident occurred at about 4.50am this morning  and reports indicate that the driver of the vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. After his vehicle came to rest he clambered out of the wreckage and was then hit by two tow trucks.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man pinned between his vehicle and one of the towing vehicles with critical injuries. After triaging the injured medics found that two people were injured, one critically and the other sustained serious injuries,” Botha said.
