Driver seriously injured in Queen Nandi Drive accident

A car collided with a truck on the N2 near the Queen Nandi Drive off-ramp.

A MAN is fighting for his life after his car collided with a truck on the N2 north-bound near the Queen Nandi Drive off-ramp on Monday night. The accident occurred at about 11.30pm, according to Chris Botha, Netcare 911 spokesman.

“Exact details of the cause of the crash and preceding events will remain a subject for SAPS investigation. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the road littered with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicle and truck. The driver was found to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

“The paramedic team worked fervently to stabilise the critically-wounded man at the scene. He was placed on a ventilator and transported to a specialised facility for the care that he required,” he said.
