1 injured in 3 car collision

The woman is said to have sustained a spinal cord injury during the crash.

A 20-year-old female is suspected of suffering a spinal cord injury after three vehicles collided on Aurora Drive in Umhlanga Ridge earlier today.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 11am to find the lady seated in her vehicle complaining of severe neck pain,” said Kyle van Reenen of Crisis Medical.

He said authorities had to extricate the woman from her vehicle using specialised spinal immobilsation equipment before transporting her to a local hospital.

The cause of the collision is unclear and the necessary authorities will investigate further, he said.
