UPDATE: Dino makes a complete recovery

Not only has the severely neglected dog’s fur grown back but he has also found his ‘voice’.

IT has been three months since Dino the dog was rescued from Shakaskraal in an extremely shocking condition. Today the neglected pup is nearly unrecognisable.

According to Gianna Scoulelis, Dino’s fur has completely grown back and he has also finally found his ‘voice’. He can often be heard ‘yodeling’ or barking up a storm, she said.

When the local animal activist and founder of Animally Haven finally managed to capture the deteriorating dog in February, he was extremely emaciated, covered in ticks, mites, fleas and sarcoptic mange and also riddled with sores. His tail was even chopped off, she added.

At the time Scoulelis said it had been one of the worst cases of animal abuse that she had seen her 20 years of rescues.

Scoulelis said she believed his owner moved and simply left him to fend for himself.
