Alliance Française host open day

There will be free demo classes, free level assessment tests and guided tours as well.

THE Alliance Française Durban invites anyone who is interested in taking up French or anyone who is simply interested in the French Culture to join them on 9 July to be part of their fun and interactive Open Day. The Open Day starts at 9am through to 1pm, there is safe parking and it is a free event that is open to all.

There will also be a Jazz- Lunch from 12pm to 2pm with Burton Naidoo. He is one of the country’s most promising and creative young pianists. A talent of rare taste and distinction, Burton’s approach to the jazz idiom always borders on the adventurous and daring.

There will be free demo classes, free level assessment tests, guided tours, a few friendly rounds of Petanque and you will be able to find out more information about the courses in French, IsiZulu, Portuguese and English for foreigners.

The Alliance Française will also be hosting Quark on Friday 15 July at 7pm. Quark is collaboration between two musicians from very different backgrounds, Fiona Tozer (guitar) and Dan Wilson (bass). The duo will be bringing the Jazz and Folk genres together to create an eclectic sound with lyrical content relating to the story of the human race and its place in the cosmos Quark is a unique experience that will leave you wanting more.
