Deadline looms for special vote applications

People have until Friday to apply for special votes.

APPLICATIONS for voters to cast special votes in the 2016 Municipal Elections are set to close on Friday, 8 July. Special votes apply for the frail or for those  who will not be able to vote on election day.

Durban North ward councillor, Shaun Ryley, will  be collecting and distributing application forms until Thursday, 7 July.

There are two categories of special votes:
1. For those too frail or infirm to physically travel to their voting station and require the IEC to visit them in their homes prior to election day.
2. For those who will not be able to vote on election day due to being away for various reasons such as holiday or business. In terms of
category two, community members will only have an opportunity to vote on 1 or 2 August.

As this is a local government election you may only vote at your registered voting station.

Contact Shaun Ryley on 083 974 3500.
