The man was flung from the back of the vehicle and is in a serious condition.

A MAN is in a serious condition following an rear-end collision between a bakkie and a car at the intersection of Umhlanga Rocks Drive and Addison Drive on Monday afternoon. According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, the passenger in the bakkie was flung from the vehicle.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a bakkie and a car were involved in a rear-end collision. Exact detail to the cause of the crash will remain a subject for police comment.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a man that was sitting on the back of a bakkie had been flung from the vehicle on impact and was in a serious condition. He was stabilised and was transported to a Durban hospital,” he said.
