eMdloti foreman robbed by 6 man gang

The gang were all armed with handguns and stole a substantial amount of money.

A CONSTRUCTION foreman was held up by a gang of six armed men on Bellamont Road in eMdloti on Friday. The incident occurred at about 11am. It’s believed more than R20 000 in cash was taken in the robbery. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the foreman was sitting in his vehicle and was sorting out the paychecks.

“He heard a car screech to a halt behind him and when he looked up into the rear view mirror he noticed a grey BMW with GP number plates. A gang of six men, all armed with handguns jumped out of the vehicle and stationed themselves around his vehicle. One smashed in the driver’s window and snatched the foremen’s cell phone and a substantial amount of money. The men then sped off and are still at large,” he said.

The incident comes two weeks after two criminals were arrested after a shooting on North Beach Road.
