La Lucia house breakers arrested

The elderly homeowner was asleep when the men broke-in to the home.

TWO men involved in a house break-in in La Lucia in the early hours of Saturday morning have been arrested. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the incident occurred shortly after 1am on Oakleigh Avenue.

“The suspects had forced entry into the home through a kitchen window, while the homeowner, an elderly lady, lay asleep a bedroom. The suspects ransacked the house, making off with various items including a number of high-end electronic equipment, as well as an undisclosed amount of money.

“An alert was sent out to our vehicles as well as members of the Durban North SAPS Field unit. They spotted the suspects near a local taxi rank. Two men were found in possession of the stolen property and were arrested on site, before being taken to Durban North SAPS for further investigation and processing,” he said.
