Survey on the go in uMhlanga

The National Income Dynamic Study (NIDS) survey will be carried out for the next two weeks.

DURBAN North SAPS has urged residents to be aware of a survey taking place in parts of uMhlanga for the next two weeks. The National Income Dynamic Study (NIDS) survey is being carried out at the moment. Antoinette Rutter said the people conducting the survey will be using a marked silver Honda.

“We’ve been conducting this field study for the presidency for since 2008. There are 19 households and our field survey teams will have marked vehicle. The field workers will also have ID tags and bibs. We just wanted to warn residents in the area not to panic or think this was some sort of scam,” she said.

The survey began today (1 November) and will conclude in two weeks.

Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, said the field workers had met with the station earlier today.

“Each of the people involved in the survey will have some form of ID on them. We have spoken to the lead surveyor and can verify it is legitimate,” he said.
