65% of 2017 Comrades entry cap taken up

Comrades entries close on 30 November.

MORE than 13 000 entries have been taken up since the 2017 Comrades Marathon entry process opened up two months ago. The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has confirmed that less than a third of the entry tally is currently available.
Next year’s Comrades entry process opened on 1 September 2016 and closes on 30 November or as soon as the 20,000 entry cap is reached.
CMA Race Director, Rowyn James says, “The third and final month of the entry process is nearly upon us. Traditionally we see a surge in entries in the last month of the entry process; and history shows us that we hit the cap before the end of November, therefore prospective entrants are encouraged to enter soonest to avoid the disappointment of missing out.”
“With the major focus on our athletes and the CMA’s Runners First Initiative, we are working with all role-players to ensure that the 92nd Comrades Marathon is a fantastic and memorable day for both our athletes and supporters.”
Entry fees for the 2017 Comrades Marathon are as follows:
·        Local Entries            : R 460.00
·        Rest of Africa           : R 770.00
·        International           : R2650.00
