Suspects rob AFDA, steal student’s car

The Glen Anil film school was robbed by two men at about 11pm on Friday night.

TWO men, one of whom was armed, robbed the AFDA Durban campus in Glen Anil on Friday night. According to W/O Leon Audh, spokesman for the Greenwood Park SAPS, about 36 items, including computers, laptops, televisions and sound equipment were taken in the brazen robbery.

The incident occurred at about 11.30pm. The suspects then loaded the loot into three cars parked inside the campus and drove off.

“The victim said he was waiting for his friend in a room, at the premises on Highdale Road, and noticed two unknown men enter, one of whom was armed. The suspects demanded he lie flat on the floor. He was punched by one of the suspects when they noticed that he had thrown his cell phone out of the window. They then searched him, took his car keys from his pocket and thereafter left the room.

“The victim saw three cars leave the film school and one of them was his car, a Toyota Aygo. Approximately 36 items of equipment were missing. We urge anyone who might have information that could lead to the recovery of the goods or arrest of suspects to contact Det/Cst NP Mhlongo on 073 862 1700,” he said.
