Woman robbed at The Pearls Mall parking lot

The suspect was seen fleeing the scene in a silver BMW.

JUST a week after an art store was targeted in the new Pearls Mall, a shopper has fallen victim to a man who allegedly robbed her of her laptop. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the robbery occurred in the parking lot of the mall on Thursday afternoon. A case of common robbery has been opened.

“According to our report, the woman was busy loading items into the boot of her car when one of the suspects approached her from behind. He threatened her and demanded her valuables. He grabbed her bag which contained her laptop and fled to an awaiting getaway vehicle, a silver BMW, parked outside the mall. Unfortunately, the victim was not able to get the number plate details,” he said.

Last week, brazen thieves distracted a shop steward, while another fled with a statue worth more than R100 000.
