Attempted house break-in thwarted, Umgeni Park

ONE man was arrested while another escaped after an attempted house break-in earlier today.

One of the men was caught by Marshall Security after they were seen scaling the wall of a home in Manfred Drive, Umgeni Park.

Armed reaction officers were immediately dispatched to the scene after a neighbour saw the suspects and called Marshall Security’s emergency contact centre at about 11:30 am.

The two suspects fled and tried to escape the officers on foot, after they arrived at the house in Umgeni Park. The one man was caught after a foot chase by the officers.

The other suspect remains at large. The arrested man was handed over to the SAPS and a further investigation will be conducted.
