WATCH: Massive waves pummel uMhlanga promenade

The waves partly flooded the steps of the uMhlanga Whalebone Pier.

WHILE videos of the massive waves flooding Durban’s North Beach has gone viral, more footage has emerged of the storm pummeling uMhlanga’s promenade. The videos which were filmed by uMhlanga resident, Sharon van Straaten, show the waves crashing into the steps of the promenade.

It’s believed that the large swells were as a result of Cyclone Enawo – which battered the coast of Madagascar this week.

Clean up operations have also begun on Durban’s North Beach which had been closed to bathers on Sunday.
