Domestic worker assaulted in Glenashley armed robbery

Prior to the suspects ransacking the house, they held up four contract workers and forced them to lay on the ground.

A DOMESTIC worker is said to have been left traumatised after she was assaulted by armed robbers this afternoon. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the woman was kicked and then covered with a blanket while four men ransacked the house in Maryland Avenue.

“At approximately 1pm today, we responded to a robbery involving four suspects in Glenashley. The men were armed with hand guns and assaulted the maid. Prior to the suspects ransacking the house, they held up four contract workers and forced them to lay on the ground. They also stole a worker’s cellphone,” van Reenen said.

SAPS were on-scene and the Durban North/Umhlanga Crisis Team had been called to console the traumatised woman. The suspects are currently still at-large.
