Man arrested after Rosehill lodge robbery

The suspects made off with cash and two other items in the armed robbery.

A SUSPECT has been arrested after a foot chase on Queen Nandi Drive. The man and an accomplice robbed a lodge in Rosehill on Monday morning. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, one of the suspects produced a firearm in the robbery.

“The receptionist was accosted by the two men who demanded cash. They then stole a computer screen, a laptop and R850 in cash before fleeing on foot. The staff member was extremely traumatised by the incident.

“A description of the suspect was circulated and one of our patrol units later spotted a man fitting the description on Queen Nandi Drive. After a short foot chase the suspect was apprehended. We recovered some of cash plus the laptop,” he said.
