Suspect nabbed for uMhlanga house break-in

The man was arrested and handed over to the Durban North SAPS.

A SUSPECT was arrested after breaking into a home on Dumra Avenue in uMhlanga on Monday evening. According to the Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the incident occurred at about 7.20pm.

“The homeowner who was not at home at the time of the robbery found that her handbag had been moved and that her cellphone and various other belongings were missing. The phone was tracked and the suspect was spotted walking along Glen Anil Street. With the assistance of the SAPS, the man was stopped and searched.

“The search revealed he was in possession of the stolen Apple iPhone, as well as various other items positively identified as belonging to the homeowner. It is unknown at this stage how the suspect gained entry into the home. The man was arrested and handed over to the SAPS,” he said.

Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North station confirmed the incident.
