REDHILL resident and founder of Feeding the Furballs, Farrah Khan Maharajh has thanked residents and visitors to the NPO’s pop-up shop fundraiser which recently raised R4 750. The pop-up shop was hosted at Spade Design Centre on Lothian Road.

“We normally have our pop-up shops when we need to raise funds for specific projects. This time we were raising funds for an outreach programme in the Clairwood and Jacbos areas. We plan on vaccinating 120 disadvantaged dogs against parvo, distemper and rabies and we also plan on de-worming some of the dogs,” she said.

Khan Maharajh said she was surprised by the turnout and how much was raised.

“I must admit I didn’t think we raised that much but it’s fantastic to see the north Durban community and those who visited us at Spade raising so much. We had a great turnout and I think people were thrilled to know their money was going towards a good cause,” she said.

She added the NPO had a number of projects lined-up leading up to Christmas.

“We are planning on having a yard sale soon which we hope everyone will come out and support,” she said.
