KZN surfers to rip up uMhlanga beach

The Lizzard Hurrican KZN Surfing Champs competition will crown the 2018 KZN Surfing Champions in both men and women's divisions from U10 all the way to masters division.

IT is nearly Christmas and time for the annual Lizzard Hurrican KZN Surfing Champs which will be taking place at Bronze Beach, uMhlanga on Saturday, 1 and Sunday, 2 December.

The competition is being held to crown the 2018 KZN Surfing Champions in both men and women’s divisions from U10 all the way to masters division.

This event is heralded as one of the most ‘fun’ family contests of the year.

Wave Wizards Surf Club will be hosting the contest and will include all KZN districts including Ugu, Ethekweni, Illembe and King Cetshwayo.

Surfers will be representing their districts and will be awarded points towards the overall District Trophy. The competition is sanctioned by KZN Surfing Association.

Wave Wizards chairman Jestyn Viljoen said: “We are really excited to be hosting all the top surfers of our province.

“The beauty of this contest is seeing all the families join together for a healthy outdoors weekend enjoying the sun and ocean.”
