Beware of SAPS job scam, warn police

THE South African Police Service has warned job seekers of a scam doing rounds on social media. The job advertisement claims the SAPS is currently recruiting, adding that job seekers can visit their nearest police station for the application forms.

Provincial police spokesperson Thulani Zwane said, “We are warning the public not to fall for these scams. There is no new intake as we are currently completing the process with last year’s recruits.”

He went on to urge people to verify adverts before sharing them.

“All police jobs will be communicated via our official channels. Before sharing any job advertisement we advise you to make sure that it’s not fake, as there are many scammers out to get people,” he said.
