The suspects also made off with the homeowner's vehicle, which was later recovered in KwaMashu.

AN armed gang robbed and ransacked a home on Glendining Court in La Lucia just after 5pm on Friday afternoon.

According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the suspects made off with the homeowner’s vehicle (which was later recovered) in the incident.

“The armed gang arrived in a vehicle, confronted a street patrol guard and forced him into the vehicle at gun point. An armed suspect kept guard of the officer while his accomplices scaled a boundary wall to a premises before forcing entry to a home.

“The homeowners who were present at the time were confined to a bedroom while the armed men ransacked their home before making off with the family vehicle, a Mercedes Benz A200. The street patrol guard was dropped off a short distance down the road as the suspects fled the scene,” he said.

According to Van Reenen, the stolen vehicle was fitted with a satellite tracking device monitored by Netstar and was later recovered by Marshall Security and Netstar recovery teams in the KwaMashu area.

The suspects remain at large.
