Help Grace Church’s Street Store

Dimitra Nicolau, Grace Aid (NPO) coordinator, said the church, in partnership with the Denis Hurley Centre, will be hosting the Pop Up Street Store at 2 Cathedral Road (Denis Hurley Centre).

GRACE Family Church is urging north Durban residents to get involved in the annual Street Store by supporting the event on Saturday, 1 June and helping the church sort through donations this Saturday, 25 May.

Speaking to Northglen News, Dimitra Nicolau, Grace Aid (NPO) coordinator, said the church, in partnership with the Denis Hurley Centre, will be hosting the Pop Up Street Store at 2 Cathedral Road (Denis Hurley Centre).

Nicolau said residents can get involved by taking a look through their cupboards and donating to the cause.

“Grace Family Church is calling for donations of new clothing, shoes, and accessories for all ages, as well as non-battery operated toys for kids.

The donations can be dropped off at the Grace uMhlanga, Riverside or Ballito church campuses during the week.

There is also a large shipping container, sponsored by Container World, based at Grace uMhlanga and the target is to fill it to the brim with various items needed.

Each year it is incredible to see the people of Durban coming together to support this initiative.

JAM Clothing has provided a significant amount of clothing and shoes, to support the Street Store as well,” she said.

Another aspect Nicolau hoped residents would support was the sorting phase held at the uMhlanga campus this Saturday, 25 May.

“Residents can assist in sorting the donated items at our uMhlanga campus, between 8am and 12pm. You’re welcome to join for five minutes or the whole time. This is suitable for families, of all ages, to get involved in serving the community. There is also no need to sign up, you can just arrive and have fun,” she said.
