Holla Trails hits record numbers
The annual trail running and mountain bicycle (MTB) event saw a record 863 participants and attracted close to 3 000 visitors throughout the weekend.

IN celebration of its 10th year, the Holla Trails Sugar Rush Classic Festival, sponsored by Zululami Luxury Coastal Estate, was recently held last weekend.
The annual trail running and mountain bicycle (MTB) event saw a record 863 participants and attracted close to 3 000 visitors throughout the weekend. Offering everything from novice fun trail running tracks to the hardcore 45km MTB race, the Holla Trails Sugar Rush Classic Festival has grown in popularity, seeing a 19 per cent growth from the year before.
“This event is one of two annual trail and mountain bike events that has seen growth in numbers this year. There are a number of reasons why the Classic Festival draws contenders annually; we believe that focusing on the experience is key. We wanted to create an event that was challenging for the runners and cyclists on the track, as well as have something fun for the festival goers and regular Sugar Rush customers. The continued support from locals, along with the picturesque and exhilarating Holla Trails track is what continues to bring people back,” said Nick Leitch, Director of Sugar Rush Park.
“Having celebrated Holla Trails 10th year running, this has been our most successful event thus far. We look forward to collaborating with local businesses and bringing together a great challenge next year for our community of avid runners and cyclists,” said Nic Jordan, Owner of Holla Trails.
