Attempted murder case opened after Glenashley fight

The fight broke out in one of the parking spaces on The Promenade in Glenashley.

DURBAN North SAPS have opened an attempted murder case following a fight that broke out on The Promenade on Sunday just after 16.40pm.

According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, two men had parked next to each other in one of the open parking areas facing the beach when the fight broke out.

“The victim was getting out of his vehicle and accidentally bumped his car door against the vehicle next to him. The accused in the case spoke to the victim and he apologised. However as the victim went to fetch something from the boot of his vehicle, the accused became allegedly aggressive towards the man.

“He pulled out a firearm and fired several shots in the air and in doing so also shot the victim’s car door. A case of attempted murder has been opened at the station following the incident,” he said.
