Armed gang tie up family in La Lucia robbery

The homeowner was making breakfast when he was confronted by an armed suspect.

DURBAN North police are searching for an armed gang involved in a home invasion on Saxon Crescent in La Lucia on Sunday morning. The incident occurred at 5.45am confirmed Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the station.

It is believed the homeowner was preparing his breakfast when he was accosted by an armed robber pointing a firearm at him.

“The homeowner was ordered to be quiet and to look down and was pushed into one of the rooms near the kitchen. Three other suspects then appeared with the rest of the family who had their hands bound with shoe laces. Their faces were also covered.

“The gang ransacked the home and loaded the family’s valuables into the homeowner’s Ford Ranger. The vehicle was later recovered however the suspects made off with several items including, jewellery, cell phones, laptops and an iPad,” he said.

The suspects are still at large and no arrests have been made.
