Our organisation strongly believes in the motto "Service to humanity is service to God"
Phoenix Thamizh Prathanay Kazhagam, situated at 162-164 Fernham Drive, is a non-profit community religious, worship and cultural organisation (NPO no. 193-919) which continues to serve the greater community —across gender, race and religious affiliations — in Phoenix. Our organisation strongly believes in the motto “Service to humanity is service to God”
We observe all Hindu festivals in the South Indian calendar. Our community outreach program includes preparing and serving hot meals to devotees at functions observed, meals to destitute families during the year, food hampers donated to the community at Deepavali etc. Being located in a lower income area and as a constituted organisation managed by a committee of volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the doors remain open and the objectives of the Kazhagam are met, we rely solely on the kind and generous sponsorships and donations of devotees and well-wishers to operate and serve.
We undertake fund-raising activities to supplement donations received to meet our operating expenses which include priest and gardener salary, water, electricity and maintenance and so forth. We have embarked on two projects which we are currently being worked on, viz. the building of a hall and the acquisition of the land alongside the temple that we’ve been occupying for over 30 years.
During this period of Covid-19, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that our organisation has sufficient funds to run, contribute to the community and grow. However, being a nonprofit, we do require the community’s assistance. All donations in cash/EFT are receipted and we adopt an open door policy for interrogation of our financial records. If you are in a position to contribute to our organisation you may do an EFT into the temple’s bank account as per the details below.
