Support uMhlanga ski boat club’s collection for TAFTA
Ski boat club member, Sarah Keyser has put out an appeal to the north Durban community for their help to make the hamper donation a success.
FOR the past 10 years, the uMhlanga Ski Boat Club has organised a Christmas Party for residents at The Association for the Aged (TAFTA) John Conradie House.
This year however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the club is trying to spread festive cheer in another way, by donating more than 100 Christmas hampers, containing various items, to residents at the TAFTA facility.

“We are unable to have a party this year due to Covid-19 and lockdown, so we have decided to do Christmas hampers instead. We are looking for donations to fill 170 hampers for men and women. We are looking for items like toiletries, sweets, any treats that could go into a hamper and would bring smiles to the elders. When you consider that for many of the residents who attend our Christmas party, that it’s the only outing for the elderly residents in the year it’s vital we do this collection.
“We really want to spread some festive cheer and we are urging the north Durban community to help us reach this goal. Any help would be appreciated. We will begin packing items into hampers by 9 December with the view of donating them a day later. The last day for donating items is Tuesday, 8 December. If anyone can donate anything towards these hampers they can call me on 072 801 0606 to arrange a drop-off,” she said.
