Glenashley skater in critical condition after fall
Bystanders reported that the man was skateboarding when he fell and injured himself.

A 20-YEAR-OLD skater was critically injured after he fell in Maryland Avenue, Glenashley earlier this afternoon.

Emer-G-Med paramedics together with Netcare911 responded to the call and found the man lying on the side of the road.
“Bystanders reported that the man was skateboarding when he fell and injured himself,” said Emer-G-Med spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen.
Paramedics reported that the man suffered from a head injury and needed advanced life support intervention.
“He was then placed onto a mechanical ventilator to assist him with breathing and was transported to hospital under the care of an emergency care practitioner,” he said.
Van Reenen thanked the community members who assisted at the scene.
