Man arrested for impersonating police officer in Mount Edgecombe
The suspect is due to appear at the Verulam Magistrate's Court this week.
DURBAN North SAPS have arrested a man who impersonated a police officer and allegedly solicited funds from unsuspecting victims.
According to Captain Raymond Deokaran, spokesperson for the station, the suspect was arrested on Flanders Drive in Mount Edgecombe on Saturday.

“One of our officers, who was off-duty at the time, spotted the suspect who claimed he was a police officer and was raising funds for an organisation. He was detained and placed in the cells at the station. He is facing charges of fraud, theft and impersonating a police officer. We have several cases opened at our police station allegedly against the same suspect,” he said.
