Help reduce PACT’s R160 000 vet bill
Donations can be made throughout the month of January.
THE Phoenix Animal Care and Treatment (PACT) has launched a donation drive in memory of actor and animal activist, Betty White.
Small contributions can make a huge impact, said the founder of PACT, Neeri Naidoo.
PACT is a non-profit organisation that sterilises, feeds, homes and finds homes for numerous stray animals in the north Durban areas.

“She would have turned 100 on January 17, so I am urging all animal lovers and the community to make a contribution to PACT in honour of the Golden Girl,” said Naidoo.
She said any amount could be donated, as well as food, blankets and old linen.
“PACT permanently has a box outside Ashburne Vet for collection of items. If you have any of the items mentioned, that you’re no longer in need of, please drop them off,” she said.
Funds raised from this initiative will go to PACT’s vet bill, which is currently sitting at R160 000.
“We’re not looking to raise any set amount, but I would like to bring the bill down to at least R100 000,” said Naidoo.
The drive will continue throughout the month of January.
“We can all make an impact like Betty White. Ordinary people can make a change and create a ripple effect of kindness,” she said.
