Tee off in Mount Edgecombe for a life-saving cause
Golfers, corporates and supporters can still get involved by entering a fourball team at R3750, sponsoring a hole, donating prizes, or pledging funds.
ONLY a handful of spots remain for the SA Bone Marrow Registry’s (SABMR) fourth annual charity golf day on Thursday, September 26, at Mount Edgecombe Country Club.

The event isn’t just about golf but about giving hope to three young beneficiaries under the age of 18 from KZN who are in urgent need of matching stem cell donors. Funds raised will go directly into the SABMR’s Patient Assistance Programme, which helps cover the cost of life-saving bone marrow stem cell transplants.
“Our goal is to raise R350 000 to help these patients find their match and give them a second chance at life,” said Kapil Premchand, KZN SABMR sustainability co-ordinator.
Beyond the greens, participants can look forward to welcome drinks, lunch, a sit-down dinner, an exciting auction, and a celebratory prize-giving.
Auction highlights include signed sports memorabilia, luxury getaways, lifestyle vouchers, and exclusive experiences – with an online auction powered by AUCOR Auctioneers opening a week before the event.
“Every swing on the day will bring us closer to saving a life. If you’ve been thinking about joining, now is the time as there are only a few spots left,” Premchand added.
Bookings close September 25. To reserve your place or get involved, contact Kapil Premchand at kapil.premchand@sabmr.co.za or call 072 778 5670.
