Gardening for good at Durban North organisation
Their skilled team led Custom Capital’s enthusiastic volunteers through soil preparation, composting, planting new herbaceous borders and thoroughly watering the gardens.
AFTER three months of extensive building work, The Domino Foundation’s Babies’ Home has been transformed from a structure affected by age, damp and borer into a bright, modern and welcoming space.
While the renovations created a safe and comfortable haven for six babies, toddlers and their carers, the gardens were left in need of attention to match the refreshed facility.

“We heard that the gardens needed upgrading and were keen to get involved, both financially and through volunteering. We partnered with Ladybird Landscapes for their expertise, and Custom Capital covered the full cost of the project,” said Custom Capital director Pierre du Toit.
“There’s no better way to make a difference in the lives of these little ones than by quite literally getting our hands dirty,” added Chris du Toit.
With more than 30 years of horticultural experience, Ladybird Landscapes arrived fully equipped with compost, jasmine, tickey creeper, spekboom, dietes, and an array of shovels and rakes to guide the hands-on work.
