UPDATE: Couple dies after Glenashley shooting

The couple, allegedly involved in a domestic dispute, did not survive the night.

A couple that was critically injured in a shooting on Minerva Avenue in Glenashley on Saturday afternoon (March 21) have succumbed to their injuries.

Marshall Security and Durban North SAPS responded to the scene at about 15:00, where the two victims were found with gunshot wounds. Netcare911 paramedics were also dispatched and treated the patients on scene before transporting them to hospital in critical condition.

Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell confirmed that both victims died overnight.

“It is believed that the incident may be domestic-related; however, the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation,” Powell said.

A firearm was recovered at the scene, which was cordoned off for further investigation by police.
