Market in Sunningdale has everything to offer

There's also a jumping castle for the children, which is free of charge.

IF you’re searching for new trinkets and treasure, the Immanuel Church Car Boot Sale and Market is where you will find these hidden gems.

While doing so, you’ll be supporting a worthy cause – the Ray of Hope Babies Home in Glen Hills as proceeds from the stalls and the sale of donated goods, which Ray of Hope cannot use, goes towards the home.

Organiser of the market Dawn Buxton said the event was initially a car boot sale, but recently, the market was also incorporated into the fundraiser.

“We wanted to have more goods and more of a variety for our visitors. There are some very talented individuals who showcase their items on the first Saturday of every month,” she said.

Homemade jams, pickles, koeksisters, farm jumbo eggs, wonderbags, fabulous coffee, baby items, toys, puzzles, beautiful girls’ dresses, kitchenware and more feature at the market.

“We would like people to come and have a look at what’s on offer. There are beautiful items that can fit your wardrobe and home. While doing so, you’ll be supporting local businesses and the babies’ home,” added Buxton.

Sharon Moss, who also volunteers at the market, said bookworms will be happy to know that some fabulous reads are priced at R10.

“If you come hungry, that’s not a problem because we have curry and rice, bacon-and-egg rolls, samoosas, and many other delicious goodies on sale,” said Moss.

She said this was the fifth market since its inception and the second one incorporating a market.

“We’re looking for vendors who sell vegan and health foods to join. We know that some vendors may have certain protocol which we are open to discuss to see how we can incorporate them into the market,” she added.
The market takes place on the first Saturday of every month, at the Immanuel Church from 09:00 to 14:00.

The next one is set for September 3.
