Motorcyclist killed in Glenashley accident

Paramedics confirmed that the circumstances leading to the accident are unclear.

A MOTORCYCLIST was killed on Saturday night in an accident on Ashley Avenue just after 19:00.

According to Shawn Herbst, Netcare 911 spokesperson, reports indicate that an adult male, believed to be in his 40s, lost control, slamming into a wall, then a tree.

“On scene were the Durban North SAPS, Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services, Marshall Security and START Rescue. The patient was assessed by Netcare 911 emergency-care practitioners, however, the man showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased on the scene,” he said.

He added that the circumstances leading up to the incident are being investigated by the Durban North SAPS.
