Copper thief arrested in Umgeni Park

The suspect may be linked to the numerous thefts of copper pipes and water meters in the Umgeni Park area in the past month.

A SUSPECT believed to be linked to the numerous cases of copper theft in the Umgeni Park area was arrested after breaking into a home in Wedgwood Crescent.

The suspect was arrested when Marshall Security responded to a call from a client that an intruder had been spotted at his property by their domestic worker.

“When our Armed Response Officers arrived at the property, they noticed a suspect jump out over the wall, carrying copper pipes and a copper tap. He was immediately arrested on the corners of Wedgwood Crescent and Anthony Road,” explained Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.
