Apply for ID, passport at Durban North bank

You can now apply for a smart ID or passport at Nedbank in Durban North.

APPLYING for a smart ID or passport just became easier for Durban residents who are Nedbank clients, especially those who live in Durban North.

Nedbank Durban North branch, located at 57 Adelaide Tambo Drive, announced its collaboration and partnership with the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) on Monday.

“The Durban branch is the sixth branch to be added to Nedbank’s national footprint of branches that provide Smart ID and passport application services to the public,” said Mawande Shugu, executive for the Coastal Business Unit at Nedbank.

The process to apply and secure an appointment at the branch is easy. All you have to do is register online on the e-Home Affairs platform, complete an application and select a date and time that’s convenient to visit the branch.

You will also need to make a payment via EFT to complete your application. Once you have completed the application, you’ll receive a reference number via SMS to confirm the receipt of your application.

You will need to visit the branch on your appointment date to have your fingerprints and photograph taken.

The DHA offices in bank branches only accept appointments booked online and no walk-in appointments are available. Clients can access the e-home affairs website for any queries or additional information.

Alternatively, clients can redirect their queries to the Home Affairs Contact Centre on 080 060 1190 or e-mail their queries to hacc@dha.gov.za / servicedesk@dha.gov.za.
