Manorfields Country Estate
In the Upper Highway area, we have spotted houses that have beautiful Christmas decorations to lift your spirits. One of the houses belongs to Hillcrest residents, Ricki Gray and Frank George. The couple moved into Manorfields Country Estate 11 years ago, and they were inspired by all the other residents who had decorated their homes at Christmas time. Sadly, the public are not allowed in as Manorfields is a gated community,” he said. The lights are on from 19:00 to 22:00 until January 1.

The Burton’s family home
The other house belongs to a Waterfall family which is renowned for transforming their home around the festive season. The family have, once again, opened their home and hearts to support The Elder’s Voice KZN this festive season. The home is located at the intersection of Umtata Road and Niagara Drive in Waterfall. The gates are open to the public until December 24 from 19:00 to 21:00. Any donations will be appreciated as they will go to the Elder’s Voice. They are also collecting toiletries for the home.

Westville Nativity Scene
Also in the Highway area, the Rotary Club of Westville set up the much-loved Westville Nativity Scene at the intersection of Attercliffe and Buckingham Terrace. This year, Rotarians have, once again, invited the public to visit with their children, especially in the evenings when the lights are up.

Drive-thru experience, Leaders Preschool
In the Durban North area, residents can drive past Little Leaders Preschool, situated at 29 Harrison Drive, Glenhills, Durban North, to view the Christmas lights.
Glendining Court, La Lucia
The home has, once again, displayed beautiful Christmas lights. It is open to the public to view, and you can support Pug Rescue South Africa at the same time. The lights will stay on until January 1 for families to come through and enjoy. The property is open from 19:00 to 21:30 for viewing.

The Trail of Lights
Durban’s favourite festive event is back to bring enchantment and joy to visitors of all ages. It started on December 8 and will continue until January 3, 2024, from 18:00 to 22:00 each evening. The Trail of Lights is a family-focused outing with something that will appeal to everybody – from the very young to the young at heart! The theme of this year’s Trail of Lights is ‘Garden Glow’, and the talented technical team behind the event are promising a radiant spectacle for the whole family to enjoy.
