“The suspects fitted the description from a theft incident on February 7 at a well-known hardware store on Ashley Avenue. During that incident, the suspects had entered the business premises under the pretence of seeking employment. While staff members were not watching, they took an unattended laptop and fled on foot.

“Our officers and members of our Special Operations Team immediately responded and spotted the suspects walking on Maryland Avenue. After conducting interviews and reviewing CCTV footage, it was confirmed that these were indeed the same two suspects involved in the theft, and they were immediately apprehended,” he said.

The suspects were handed over to the Durban North SAPS.
