Suspect linked to 2023 theft case in Durban North re-arrested

The suspect was previously arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen items.

A SUSPECT was detained on Sunday morning after he was spotted on a property on Holmpark Place in Durban North.

The suspect, who was held by Marshall Security, was arrested last year on Old Mill Way for being in possession of suspected stolen items.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, the incident occurred at about 07:40.

“We received a report of an intruder at a client’s property on Holmpark Place. Our team was provided with a description of the suspect’s clothing and the direction he fled. Our officers were dispatched to the area and apprehended the suspect matching the given description.

“The complainant was contacted and expressed a desire to open a case against the intruder. Our records show that this suspect was previously arrested by our team in September of last year for possession of suspected stolen items,” he said.

Powell added that Durban North Police took the suspect into custody for further investigation.
