The event formed part of fundraising for the Midmar 8 Mile Charity Challenge which requires participants to support a charity of their choice. It was organised The Clan Fraser 8 Mile Swimmers.
“A huge thank you to all those who took the time to join us on the day, supporting such a worthy cause. Thanks also goes to all the local businesses who showed their support through various sponsorship means,” said one of the organisers, Ashleigh Clarke.

Ten-year-old Trent Lucas was the man of the moment who raised R7 500 by himself and swam 50 laps in his 30- minute time slot.
Stephen Hunt swam in every session of the day, swimming a total of 540 laps in the pool, equivalent of 13.5km.
The Fraser family chose CANSA Active as their beneficiary as they are passionate about making conscious health choices and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
