Tree collapse destroys power lines in Umgeni Park

The area has been cordoned off as a team from the municipality works to remove the tree.

A COLLAPSED tree has caused mayhem for some Umgeni Park residents.

The tree knocked over electricity poles as it plummeted onto Mount Argus Road, resulting in traffic flow being hindered.

According to a Facebook post by Marshall Security, Metro Police are standing by as eThekwini Municipality staff chop up the tree to have it removed.

“The electricity department was also notified and have isolated the area,” said Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell.

Motorists are asked to exercise caution when approaching the area.
