Klaasen and Williamson heroics not enough for DSG

DSG have lost four of their last six matches with a no result as well.

HALF centuries from Kane Williamson and Heinrich Klaasen weren’t enough for Durban’s Super Giants who were beaten by seven wickets by MI Cape Town in the Betway SA20 on Saturday night in Cape Town.

It was basically a do-or-die match for the Super Giants and after a poor start with the bat, the middle-order veterans resurrected their innings and got them to a competitive score.

MI Cape Town won the toss and put the DSG batting line-up under pressure in tricky batting conditions.

Williamson and Klaasen were instrumental in getting the Durban team back in the game as they put on 121 for the fifth wicket with the duo both registering half centuries.

From being 22/4, DSG finished their innings on 149/6, a remarkable recovery.

In reply the Cape Town team got off to a blistering start thanks to Ryan Rickleton who scored 63 off 41 balls.

George Linde then provided a cameo innings scoring 29 off 8 deliveries to take MI Cape Town home in the 15th over with 31 deliveries remaining.

Scoreboard summary
Durban’s Super Giants 149/6 (20 overs)
Joburg Super Kings 154/3 (14.5 overs)
MI Cape Town won by 7 wickets
