The incident occurred on Monday evening (February 17) at around 23:20.

“Our officer was patrolling on Adelaide Tambo Drive when he heard metallic noises coming from the local post office. On closer inspection, he noticed the premises’ gates were wide open and decided to investigate,” exlained Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell. “Once on site a suspect was spotted packing pieces of copper pipes into his backpack and water was seen flowing from the roof.

“The suspect was immediately apprehended and it was established that the pipes were indeed stolen from the Post Office. The suspect was handed over to the Durban North SAPS for further investigations,” he said.
