Pedestrian killed in Chris Hani Road accident

The female pedestrian was declared deceased on the scene.

A WOMAN in her 60s was killed after she was struck by a vehicle in an accident at the intersection of Chris Hani Road (North Coast Road) and Mimosa Road on Wednesday (May 28).

The incident occurred just after 17:00.

Ensure Security spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said the cause of the incident was unclear and will be investigatedbl by the SAPS.

“The Ensure Security Tactical Intervention Unit responded to the scene together with multiple emergency service agencies. On arrival on scene a female pedestrian, aged approximately 60 years old, was found to have sustained fatal issues and there was nothing paramedics could do to assist her. She was declared dead on the scene,” he said.

Van Reenen added the driver of the vehicle involved suffered no injuries.
