Headless body found on N2 near Blackburn Village
Reports from a private security company suggest the man may have been decapitated in a hit-and-run.
A MAN’S headless body was found in what is being reported as an alleged hit-and-run on the N2 freeway near Blackburn Village on Saturday (June 21)
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the incident just after 23:00.
“A motorist reported a mangled human body on the road to our operations centre. Officers were immediately dispatched and located the decapitated body in the emergency lane. Human flesh was strewn on the road for approximately 100m,” explained RUSA spokesperson Prem Balram.

“Our officers searched for the deceased’s head without success. It couldn’t be confirmed if he was run over by multiple vehicles. A pair of navy pants was found neatly draped over a metal barrier. It was not tattered or torn in the accident. The identity of the deceased was not immediately established.”
In August last year a headless body was discovered on the M41 near uMhlanga with reports at the time also suggesting it was a hit-and-run.
