Earthworks begin for new multi-million rand liftestyle centre in Izinga

The Izinga Lifestyle Centre will be situated on Wager Road.

A NEW R70m project is set for Wager Avenue in the Izinga Eco Estate.

The new Izinga Lifestyle Centre is set to be erected and completed within a 12 to 16-month period, and earthworks have already begun.

That’s according to Kyle Gallagher, Balwin general manager, KwaZulu-Natal, the company behind the development.

Gallagher said the centre will include a number of amenities, including a padel court.

“The total project costs for the Lifestyle Centre will be in the region of R70m. The Izinga Lifestyle Centre is unique in that it will offer non-residents access on a tiered membership basis. This will enable the community to also enjoy the facilities which include five indoor padel courts, a fully equipped gym, a spa, a concierge service, a laundromat, and a restaurant. The Centre will also provide office space,” he said.

When asked whether the proposed widening of Herrwood Drive, which is also being privately funded by the company, was linked to the project, Gallagher said it was not.

“The Lifestyle Centre will be on Wager Road. It is not linked to the Herrwood Drive widening project, as the traffic rights associated with this property were approved as part of a previous development application,” he said.
